O’Day Consultants prepared a study evaluating enhancements for the 43rd Street and Logan/National Avenue realignment project (contract number H105155) in the community of Mountain View. The purpose of the study was to consider enhancements to the project area that will add to the aesthetic features throughout the roadway corridor. Considerations included cost (design, construction, maintenance) safety and aesthetics.

Our engineers provided the City of San Diego with a complete and thorough study evaluating options for enhancements based on the considerations noted above. The options were summarized into a menu list, included in the study, to select from. After review and approval by City staff, O’Day Consultants provided design of selected options.

Task included:

  • Project Management, Coordination & Processing with the City
  • Base Mapping
  • Quantity Take-Offs and Preliminary Cost Estimates
  • Construction Drawings
  • City Plan Checks
  • As-Needed Additional Civil Engineering Services

The overall goal of the project was to improve traffic flow through an unconventional intersection and provide increased safety features for pedestrians and motorists. The project also included underground conversion of overhead dry utilities and the installation of a biofiltration basin in support of the City of San Diego Clean Water Program.
